Cory Doctorow: "The Approaching Civil War over General-purpose Computing", Talks at Google Tube. Duration : 70.38 Mins.

Who governs digital trust? Doctorow presented the issue by doing this: "Computer systems abound. They are something we put our whole physiques into---planes, cars---then one we put in our physiques---pacemakers, cochlear implants. They need to be reliable." Sometimes humans aren't so reliable, and programs may override you: "I can not let you accomplish that, Dork." (Mention of self-protective insane computer Hal in Kubrick's film "2001." That point a persons was more reliable compared to computer.) Who decides who are able to override whom? The core issues for Doctorow come lower to Human Privileges versus Property Privileges, Lockdown versus Certainty, and Proprietors versus mere Customers.
